This is oil on canvas painting is inspired by Juneteenth – Freedom Day. It’s an expression of abundance, life, and celebration. The image in the center is a Nigerian Face Mask (Agbogho Mmuo) which historically represents youthful feminine beauty and was worn at festivals and funerals. Here, the mask represents black joy.
