Lanre Buraimoh
Born 1976 in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria, Lanre trained under the hands of his parents, Chief Jimoh Buraimoh and Mrs. Alake Buraimoh and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from AMBROS Ali University and Osun State Polytechnic, Iree in 2001 and 2005 respectively. Inspired by the ancient city of Osogbo, Lanre’s bead painting technique projects Yoruba symbols and the theme of his works majorly reflect Yoruba traditional belief, love, entertainment, animals and unity.
He has exhibited widely in Nigeria, Denmark, London, Canada and the US. His work has won international awards from the American Art Award, Sky Forest California, Citywide African American Exhibit, Houston Texas, Coastal League Museum California, American Art Award California, Light Space and Time Gallery in Florida and People Upstream Gallery Omaha, Nebraska. In 2019 Lanre Buraimoh was selected to be one of the Houston Artadia Fellows. In addition to creating art, he has conducted art workshops for kids and adults both at home and abroad. Lanre lives and works in Houston, Texas.
