Description
Nana Asma’ U was an African Fula princess, poet, and teacher. Today, in Northern Nigeria, women’s organizations, schools, and meeting halls are commonly named for her and she remains a revered figure. She spent her life educating Muslim women throughout Northern Nigeria and many of her teaching methods are in practice today. A piece of her resides in all the women of that region. As there are not many pictures of her, this is my representation of her.
