Inspired by Reykjavik, the capital and largest city in Iceland. Reykjavik is a popular destination for viewing the famed aurora borealis. Twelve large black and white Papilio Rumanzovia butterflies rest on an ornate silver background to give the feel of a winter scene on a black volcanic landscape and the occasional red lava flow. The small red Cymothoe Sangaris butterflies provide an element of both color and warmth. The frosty piece is backlit by LED lighting which provide an array of color options. By day, this clock has the feel of the white, cold and snowy town of Reykjavik. By night, this piece transforms with the soft, soothing colors of an aurora.
