48×48 ” Acrylic on canvas

A Slice Of Freedom is the celebration of sacrifices made by black women in the fight for freedom.  This piece acts as an honorarium to women such as Harriet Tubman who led the fight for Freedom, justice, and equality for all. The word freedom sliced in the subject’s hand represents the sacrifice made for freedom and equality. The Adinkra Symbols represent the past. The cotton represents the struggle. The broken chains are the inability to hold a people back no matter what hurdles may be manifested.
